Another great tip from Scrapbook Retailer Magazine

"There's no need to give consumers every product they ask for. Instead, give them more projects. Make your store a design destination by offering projects and ideas that customers can find nowhere else.
Fill your store with fantastic projects from simple cards to albums decorated with bling and flowers to home decor, and watch the products used in these projects fly out the door. Make at least one project a week and publicize your Project of the Week. Customers will come in more often wanting to see your latest creation.
It's time to rethink the idea of only promoting new products in your store. Instead, start combining the latest and greatest items with the basic products you already have on your shelves. The result will be increased sales all the way around. " Susan McShirley of SRM Press

Tip of the day courtesy of Scrapbook Retailer Magazine

Store buyers are trying too hard to please every customer. They think that having one of everything is the only answer and are buying too wide. It's the top 20 percent of your stock that makes you 80 percent of your money (and all of your profit). If you only buy ones and twos, and don't reorder the same item twice, you never learn what the hot sellers are.
